I witnessed something pretty amazing yesterday as D1NZ’s top level drift cars cruised the street of Auckland. With a police convy complete with flashing lights and sirens. And it was all for a great cause.

It was a fundraising exercise for My Mate Daniel and over $4000 was raised for Daniel and has family.

The passanger seat spot in each car in the convoy was auctioned off and the lucky winners got to experience some hot laps at Mt Smart Stadium…

…then cruise along the motorway into Auckland’s CBD…

…and finally park up in Aotea Square – where the cars attracted a lot of attention from the public.

It was an awesome thing to be a part of and a big congratulations must go out to Brendon and the D1NZ team, all the drivers involved, the New Zealand Police as well as Mr Sare who hooked up a pretty sweet truck for me to shoot from.

We haven’t had the best weather here recently so I’ve been doing some of this.

This weekend saw New Zealand’s premier automotive show and drag racing event, the V 4 & Rotary Nationals, take place. I am currently working on my coverage for Speedhunters.com but in the meantime check out this sweet NSX. So rad.
