Today I moved into this awesome apartment with five others from the hostel. Its a four bedroom place in a great location with a dope rooftop that gets the sun all afternoon. Will update with some photos of that later on, in the meantime here are some shots of the inside.

Palma: Two Weeks In

Hey everyone! Little update from me. Been in Palma for two weeks now and absolutely loving it! Still no luck on the job front but its a pretty sweet place to be searching for work. Last week I completed my STCW and met some really cool peeps. The course was lots of fun and interesting, especially the fire fighting part. Searching through pitch black shipping containers wearing breathing apparatus looking for a dummy while putting out fires, rad!

I have been dockwalking a lot the last few days trying to meet people and hopefully find a boat that requires some daywork or new/extra crew. There are a lot of people here looking for work but everyone seems fairly confident they will find something so I guess I should be too! Haha.

Anyway here are a some photos I have taken over the last few days, I also have a heap on my phone which I’ll do something with soon. Take care!

As promised here are a few more photos of the Old Town. It’s Easter Sunday so everything is very quiet which made for the perfect opportunity to venture out with my Fujifilm X100 (which I’m absolutely in love with by the way!). The first photo shows my hostel, I will update with internal photos later, and the second is my newly purchased bike to get around the ways. Makes it a lot more fun!

The other photos are of the area surrounding where I am staying. It has a really cool feel to it both during the day and at night. There are constantly people sweeping the streets, tidying the gardens and making sure everything is perfect. I start my STCW course on Monday and that should open up a few doors to more young people here as well as some contacts/info to aid me in my search for work.

I Made It!

After a few days of traveling I arrived in Palma de Mallorca two days ago. My hostel is in ‘Old Town’ which strangely enough is the old part of town. It is an awesome area and will head out early tomorrow and take some photos, as when I ventured out with my camera this afternoon it was way too busy. In the meantime here is a photograph of the huge Cathedral of Santa Maria nearby.
