10 Days In The Sunshine State

August 30th, 2010

Myself and 4 friends spent the last 10 days in Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia. We’d done a similar trip in 2008, attending the annual Jamboree at Willowbank Raceway. We all thought it was time to head away again, and timed our flights to suit this year’s Jamboree. Its a two-day drag and show event, very similar to our Nationals. Full report up in the coming days.

Australian’s call Queensland the ‘Sunshine State’ and considering its suppose to be winter over there, the weather was pretty damn good!

When the sun wasn’t out, it was still hot!

We spent two long days at Willowbank, luckily the media room in the control tower was air-conditioned.

Our apartment was on the 24th floor, right in the heart of Surfers.

We spent alot of time in the pool!

The view wasn’t too bad either. Haha.

Wandering around one afternoon, we found Japanese Teppanyaki bar and booked ourselves in for dinner. It was short walk from where were staying, and ended up going again before we flew home.

Its pretty amazing watching these guys cook right in front of you. They must practise a lot.

We made some friends too!

Cheers boys for a fun time, We’ll have to do it again soon! And Casey D of shirtstuckedin.com, was cool to meet you and thanks for half drunk bottle of Passion Pop! Haha.
